Faith Leaders for Peace (FLFP) is co-sponsoring the Arlington West travelling memorial along with Veterans for Peace (VFP) and the Fallbrook Democratic Club on Memorial Day, May 29 at Live Oak Park in Fallbrook. The memorial displays Crosses, Crescents, and Star of David’s representing each of the Americans who have died in the Iraqi war to date; Iraqi deaths are also memorialized. The public is invited to view the memorial between 10AM and 6PM. At 11AM FLP will present an interdenominational memorial service.
This is not a peace rally. It is a memorial service. Out of respect for those who have died and their families we ask that no placards or signs be brought. We will be honoring and remembering those who have paid the highest sacrifice in this war. And we will be praying for peace.
Faith Leaders for Peace www.flfpeace.org <http://www.flfpeace.org> , is a San Diego group of religious leaders from all faith traditions who work for peace in Iraq. The group includes over 70 Jewish,
Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, and Sufi clergy. San Diego Veterans for Peace is composed of men and women, including those who served in combat in World War II and the Korean, Vietnam, Gulf, and the Iraq Wars. SDVFP has been presenting the Memorial since the beginning of the Iraq War.
